Server Identity
The Destiny Administrator completes the Server Identification steps when they set up Destiny test servers in addition to their Destiny production server. The Server Identity process lets Destiny only see the Destiny production server, which then properly lists the production server sites in the School Pick List.
Note: For each customer number, only one Destiny district installation can be designated as the Production Server. |
Important: This configuration is only needed for Follett self-hosted customers. |
To identify the Destiny (Production) Server:
- Log in as a Destiny Administrator.
Note: If this pop-up appears: Warning: Please identify this Destiny server as either a Production server or a Test server, you need to make a selection. - Do one of the following:
If you want to… Then… Identify your Destiny server
Click Register Destiny. The
Server Identification
page appears. Proceed with the next step.Delay identifying your Destiny server
Click Remind me later. When you are ready to identify your Destiny server, complete the steps.
- If you select:
- Test server, then you are done until testing is complete. The next time you log in to Destiny, the warning pop-up will not appear.
- Production server, then you need to:
important: Once you designate the Destiny server, you cannot change it back. Also, for each district customer number, only one Destiny server can be the production server. - Enter your email address and confirm it, then click Register. Destiny sends you an email verification.
- Click Complete Identification in the email you receive. Your server is designated as the Destiny (Production) Server, which means that the School Pick List is updated daily.
To change server identification:
- Log in as a Destiny Administrator.
- Select Setup > District Options.
- Find Server Identity. If the server status is:
- Unverified, then click Destiny Discover Settings to configure Destiny Discover first.
- Test, then click .
- From the Purpose drop-down, select Production Server. The Server Identification page appears.
- In the email fields, type and confirm your email address, then click Register. Destiny sends you a verification email.
- In the email sent to the address you entered, click Complete Identification. Your server is designated as the Destiny (Production) server, which means that the School Pick List is updated daily.
Verify the Site Customer Number
- Log in as a Destiny Administrator.
- Select Setup > Sites.
- Find the site you want to verify, and then click . The Edit site page appears.
- Find the Site Customer Number field.
- Make any needed changes.
- Click Save.
