Global Update (Resource Manager)—Site

Global update performs a search and then updates all resources (or a resource type in the branch(es) of the hierarchy that you have access to update).
To perform a Global Update
You must have a resource collection to perform a Global Update.
- This process cannot be reversed. Before you begin, make sure you have a current backup of your database.
- If you are not on the Update Resources page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Use the For every drop-down to select the branch or resource type you want to update.
important: When globally updating items based on the purchase order (in the Whose drop-down), a pop-up appears that explains the effect of the update. Read the pop-up carefully before you proceed.
- Use the Whose drop-down to make your selection accordingly, then use the is drop-down to select what you want Destiny to find. The selections you make here determine the records that get updated in Destiny.
- Use the Change drop-down to select the name of the field that you want to change in the item records. Then, use the to drop-down to select the new information for the item field.
- Optional step To add a note to the transaction history log, put your cursor in the Add historical note field and type your note (max of 120 characters).
- When you are ready to run the update, click Update. A confirmation pop-up appears; select accordingly.
- If you selected Yes from the confirmation message, Job Manager appears. Click Refresh until the job status is Completed.
- To view the Job Summary, click View. To check the status of the job that is running, go to Admin > Job Manager.
