Manage Resources (Add/Edit)
Managing resources, in this sense, involves adding or editing an item, media, or licenses.
You can create digital resource records and add redemption codes as needed.

Duplicate barcodes
When searching by barcode, whether from the district or across the district from a site, it is possible that search results will contain duplicate barcodes. If so, be sure to select the resource you want.
If you search or scan for a resource by barcode, duplicate barcodes could be found at sites other than your own. You are given the option to either not transfer or choose the appropriate resource to transfer.
To manage resources
Note: The options change based on the instructional classification. For textbook resources, the Funding Source drop-down is replaced with the Budget Category drop-down.
As you complete the fields, keep in mind the information you want to gather on reports.
Important: If you are a district-level user, you can select the site type and site name when adding textbook items. To add textbook items, you must assign them barcode numbers.
When updating the PO for an item associated with an open order, a pop-up appears. Make your selection accordingly.
- If you are not on the Resource Search page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Search for a resource. If applicable, populate the fields and make selections based on your search needs. note Wildcards (*) are supported.
- When you find the resource you want, click Details.
- Do one of the following:
- If the resource you chose is software, click either the Media or Licenses , then proceed to the next step.
- If the resource you chose is hardware, textbooks, or digital, click the Items, then proceed to the next step.
- Use the following table to complete your task:
important The District Identifier field must be unique to the district, as should the Serial Number field.
If you want to… Then… Add an item or media
- If you are on the Items tab, click +Add Item. If you are on the Media tab, click +Add Media.
- Complete the applicable required field(s):
- Number of items* Select and enter how many items you want to add. You can add up to 99,999 items. For digital resources, see table footnote.
- Unlimited Once a number of items is added to the resource, this option disappears. You cannot have both Number of Items and Unlimited for a single resource.
- List of Redemption Codes ** Enter the applicable codes.
- From Redemption Code File** Click Choose File to browse to, and upload, a file of redemption codes. See ** in footnote to validate the file meets the required format.
- List of Barcodes To create a list of barcodes, place the cursor in the
List of Barcodes
field, scan the barcodes, and then click Add. - From Barcode File To select a barcode file, in the From Barcode File field, navigate to the existing barcode file, and then click Browse. To create a barcode file, see Create a file of barcodes.
- Proceed to the next step.
Add a license - If you are on the Licenses tab, click Add License. The only required field is License Count.
- Proceed to the next step.
Edit an item, media, or license - On the Item, Media, or Licenses tab, click .
- Make applicable changes.
- Proceed to the next step.

- Make changes to other fields, as needed.
- Before you save, be sure to review the importantnotes. Make additional changes, as needed.
- Click Save.
To create “On Order” items
Your district and school can track resources you have ordered from an outside vendor. You can do this by assigning an item with the status On Order
, which lets you track the items, receive them, and send them where they are needed.
- Select Catalog > Resource Search > [resource name] > Items > +Add Item.
- On the Add Item page, enter the number of items, and then select On Order from the Status drop-down.
- To track the items, type an order number in the Purchase Order field.
- Complete the remaining fields.
- Click Save.

Region Format support
To select a different Region Format
Region format includes currency, date (dd/mm/yyyy), and time. Examples include United States Dollar (USD) and English (United Kingdom).
- Log in as DestinyAdmin.
- Select Setup > Sites.
- Find your district, and then click . The Update District Sites page appears.
- Use the Region Format drop-down to select the applicable format.
After you perform these steps, the currency symbol of the selected region appears.
