Items tab / Media tab (Resource Manager)

The Items | Media tab shows the items/media details. You can manage the items/media at your location.

note If a document is attached to an item/media, a view icon (View icon) appears next to the barcode in the given tab.

To manage the Items tab / Media tab

  1. If you are not on the Resource Search page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
  2. Search for a resource. If applicable, populate the fields as needed. Note Wildcards (*) are supported.
  3. When you find the resource you want, click Details.
  4. If the resource you chose is software, then click the Media tab. If the resource you chose is hardware or textbooks, then click the Items tab.
  5. Use the following table to complete your task:

important You can create a Help Ticket if you have the Create Help Ticket for self permission and can access a resource's Items tab.

If you want to… Then…
Include items in a container
  1. Find the parent item in which you want to include items.
  2. Click . The Update Included Items page appears. See Update included items.
Create a help ticket
  1. Find the item you want.
  2. Click . The Create Help Ticket page appears. See Create Help Ticket.
Add media
Add an item
Update assignments
  1. Select the Licenses tab.
  2. Find the license you want.
  3. Click . The Update Assignments page appears. See Assign Software.


Edit
  1. Find the resource you want.
  2. Click . The Edit Item / Media page appears. See Manage Resources (Add/Edit)
Edit components
  1. Click . The Components page appears.
  2. Complete fields as needed, and then click OK.
Update digital content
  1. Find the resource you want.
  2. Click . The Update Digital Content page appears. See Update Digital Content.

Delete a resource
  1. Click .
  2. Select accordingly.

To manage unbarcoded items

note When you have resources with instructional classifications that can be unbarcoded, you can add unbarcoded items to your catalog.

You can add unbarcoded items to a resource description with an instructional classification that makes barcoding the items optional. In those instances, you can add or remove barcodes, mark them lost or found, and delete them from the Items subtab of the resource description record.

  1. If you are not on the Resource Search page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
  2. Search for a resource. If applicable, populate the fields as needed.
  3. When you find the resource you want, click Details.
  4. From an item’s resource details, click Items.
  5. From the Group by drop-down, select Status.
  6. Find the group you want to work with, and then click Show More.

    note You must select Available to add or remove barcodes, mark items lost or found, or delete items.

  7. Use the following table to complete your task:
    If you want to…Then…
    Remove barcodes from items
    1. Click -Remove Barcodes.
    2. In the Quantity to Unassign field, enter the number of items to unbarcode.
    3. Type the first barcode number.
    4. Click Remove.
    Assign barcodes to items
    1. Click +Assign Barcodes.
    2. In the Items to Barcode field, specify how many items to barcode.
    3. Either type the first barcode number, or let Destiny automatically assign the next available barcode.
    4. To print labels, select the Print labels checkbox.
    5. Complete other fields as needed.
    6. Click +Assign.
    Mark items as Lost
    1. Click Lost.
    2. In the Items to mark Lost field, type the number of items to mark lost.

      note You can only mark unbarcoded items “lost” this way.

    3. Click Mark Lost.
    Delete items

    NOTE If you are a district user, use the district level instructions.

    1. ClickItems without barcodes >.
    2. In the Items to delete field, type the number of items you want to delete.
    3. Click Delete.
    Mark Lost items Found
    1. Click Found.
    2. In the Items to make Available field, type the number of items found.
    3. Click Found.

To delete unbarcoded items at the district level

A Destiny Admin or district user can delete unbarcoded material at the district level.

  1. If you are not on the Resource Search page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
  2. Search for a resource. If applicable, populate the fields as needed.
  3. When you find the resource you want, click Details.
  4. From an item’s resource details, click Items.
  5. From the Group by drop-down, select Site.
  6. Find the group you want to work with, and then click Show More.
  7. Click Items without barcodes .
  8. In the Items to delete field, type the number of items you want to delete.
  9. Click Delete.
