Schedule Automatic Updates

Destiny automatically checks for available software updates from Follett School Solutions, Inc. on an hourly basis. As the Destiny Administrator, you can have Destiny automatically update its software on a schedule that you set up.

Note: If your district is hosted, Follett School Solutions handles updates on off-hour periods.

By providing your email address, you can also have Destiny send you an email notification about new updates.

When new updates are available, Destiny displays a notification bar at the top of the window. Clicking this bar lets you schedule the update or displays the existing schedule for the update (if automatic updates are enabled). You can also remove a scheduled update.

To configure automatic updates:

1. If you are a Destiny Administrator, select Setup > District Options.
   If you are a Super Administrator, select Setup > Options.
2. Next to Auto Update Settings, click Edit.
3. If you want Destiny to send you an email notification when new updates become available, enter your email address.
4. To verify that you can receive email notifications, click Test Email.
   
5. To have Destiny automatically install updates, select Enable automatic updates at, and specify a time and days of the week.
6. Click Save.

After a software update, Destiny sends a confirmation email that includes information about the update.
